The Work
Lovely tribute sent by a Shareholder to the Farm Team:
Faithful Farm Hands
Blessings to everything about you that draws you to this work!
Blessings on your mind, spirit and body!
Blessings to you…
To your calloused knees and hands
To your sore lower backs and shoulders
To your weary feet at the days end
To your dirt–smudged faces
May the intoxicating aroma of basil lift your spirit
May the satisfaction of a hard days work fill you with pride
May the cool weather evoke deep appreciation in your heart
And may the comradery of working shoulder to shoulder ground you
Thank you for blessing my body with local whole and healthy food
Thank you for faithfully doing the work day after day, rain or shine
Thank you for being part of my greater community
Much Appreciation,
Katy (a former farm hand)
The Crops
We transplanted most of the fall broccoli. Seeded rutabaga. Trellised tomatoes. The ample moisture in the ground coupled with the heat is making the crops grow rapidly. The sweet corn is tasseling and shooting ears. Potatoes are flowering. Carrots will soon be in your boxes.

A Message from the Angelic Organics Learning Center
On Farm Programs at Angelic Organics Learning Center offer so much more that the opportunity to learn new skills; they offer a full-sensory experience on a unique and peaceful working farm environment. We have witnessed how therapeutic being on the farm can be for people of all different ages and backgrounds.
None of our programming would be possible without our friends at Angelic Organics. We are endlessly grateful for the opportunity to utilize the farm as a living classroom and offer people the chance to eat a carrot fresh from the organic soil or harvest their own lettuce for a salad. See our calendar to see all the possibilities to come for a learning adventure – and unwind – out on the farm.
~Jessie Mermel, Angelic Organics Learning Center

We also encourage you to bring a picnic blanket and/or lawn chairs as table space is limited.
1:30 – 2:15 The CSA Meeting

Talk, ask questions, and offer suggestions about food & farming. Kids Activities! Kids of all ages are welcome to join in on the scavenger hunt, visit with the Learning Center livestock, and participate in craft activities in the barnyard center.
2:15 – 3 Tour of Social Spaces on Farmstead by Farmer John
For those of you who are interested in how we have adapted the buildings on the farm for social and educational life, and what we still hope to accomplish in this realm, join Farmer John as he walks you through several of the farm buildings.
3:00 – 4:00 Farm Field Tour
The Farm Field Tour will be similar to hayrides occurring earlier in the day but will go into greater detail. Be aware that space is limited and that the tour is often a popular event. Be sure to catch a hayride before lunch if you want to ensure at least 1 trip around the fields.
Pet & Insect Note: Although we do love the company of animals (such as the Learning Center’s goats & cows) we do not allow pets to be brought onto the farm. Also, as we are an Organic Farm, we do not spray against mosquitos. If you have insect bite concerns, we recommend you wear long sleeves and pants.
We hope to see you at the Farm on July 20th.
