The Many Benefits of Joining our CSA Farm

When you join our farm, you will enjoy more than just the nutritious, organic food from our fields.

Choose the Vegetables and Herbs that You Want

In partnership with CSAware, a CSA management platform, we will provide you with a vegetable share customized to your preferences. Rate each vegetable and herb that we grow according to your taste, and receive the vegetables and herbs that you love, and leave out what you don’t like. (If you don’t want to customize your vegetable share, you can opt to not enter any vegetable preferences, and you will then receive a “farmer’s choice” share containing a variety of seasonal vegetables and herbs.)

Choose a Convenient Delivery Option

We probably deliver to a location near you. Check out our community delivery sites page to find a pickup location near you. We also offer home delivery to many zip codes in Chicagoland. Check out our home delivery page to learn more about home delivery.

Teach Your Kids Where Their Food Comes From

Your children are young citizens of the earth. As a shareholder, you can share our farm with your kids.

We’ve been shareholders for over 20 years and I can’t imagine summer without the weekly CSA box from Angelic Organics. When our kids were young they ran home from school on “veggie day” eager to see what was in the box and, because it was grown on THEIR farm, they all ate every kind of vegetable. Now, as young adults, they continue to cook and eat fresh vegetables and have a robust understanding of what it takes to get fresh, healthy food from farm to table. Becoming Angelic Organics shareholders when our oldest was 3 was one of the best child-rearing decisions we made!

Know Your Farmer

John Peterson, known to many as Farmer John, has been farming since he started milking cows in the family dairy barn in 1958 at age nine. He has been growing organic vegetables for his Community Supported Agriculture shareholders on the same family farm since 1990. Farmer John considers farming to be as much of an art as it is a craft.

I also love the weekly newsletter with updates from Farmer John and a little insight into life on the farm.

Receive Fresh, Local and Sustainable Produce

Any company can claim that their food is fresh, local and sustainable. There are no legal standards for these terms. (Of course, all food is local where it is harvested.) Because of the direct route from our farm to your kitchen (less than a two hour drive to Chicago), you are assured of local and fresh, since our vegetables and herbs are typically harvested just a day or two before they are delivered to you.

Since we are certified organic and we use Biodynamic methods you can also be assured that our farm is sustainable and that our vegetables and herbs are brimming with vitality.

What makes our CSA even more special is the fact that our farmer is also gifted in the arts. He [was the subject of] a film, depicting the history and struggles of what it means to be a farmer.
